Nkana Deanery visitation and Seminarian Fund Presentation

Today, 7th November 2020, was an exciting day for the Catholic Women’s Organization as they traveled from all 10 deaneries of the Diocese to present to the Bishop of Ndola, Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri the money that has been raised in various deaneries to help pay for the formation of Priest. The presentation was combined with the Bishop’s Familiarization tour as he took the opportunity to visit Nkana Deanery. The Seminarian fund Presentation was held at Nkana stadium in Kitwe under the theme: ‘’WOMEN CALLED TO HOLINESS, FOR THE EVANGALIZATION OF THE WORLD AND INTEGRAL DEVELOPMENT.’’ The women managed to raise a sum total of K2,007,168.52. Ndola deanery won the overall first position as it managed to raise the highest amount as a Deanery and the Cathedral of Christ the King won the overall first position as they raised the highest amount as a Parish.

The event began with welcome remarks and a brief history of the deanery from the Vicar Forane of Nkana Deanery- Rev. Fr. Alexander Chimpusa. Mass followed celebrated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri. In attendance was Vicar General- Rev. Fr. Christopher Chowa, Director Pastoral- Rev. Fr. Mathews Mumba, Director Social- Rev. Fr. Francis Mukosa, Procurator General- Rev. Fr. Charles Tembo, Priests of the Diocese, Political Leaders and CWO members. Below are a few highlights of the colourful event.
