Kitwe’s Sacred Heart Parish was filled with joy and gratitude on 9th August 2025, as the Baptistine Sisters of St. John the Baptist celebrated a special Jubilee Thanksgiving Mass. The Holy Mass was celebrated by the Apostolic Nuncio to Zambia and Malawi, Archbishop Gian Luca Perici, and concelebrated by Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri of the Catholic Diocese of Ndola. The celebration honored four dedicated sisters for their years of faithful service: Sr. Prisca Chanda Mulenga, Sr. Catherine Bwalya Katako, and Sr. Madeleine Nkole Kakungu, each marking 50 years in religious life, and Sr. Bibien Mulenga, celebrating 25 years. The event was a beautiful and colorful occasion, filled with heartfelt thanksgiving, music, and joy, as parishioners, friends, and family gathered to honor the sisters’ remarkable commitment to their vocation and service to the Church.
