On Saturday, 2nd August 2025, the Archdiocese of Ndola witnessed a grace-filled event as six candidates were ordained to the Sacred Priesthood at a grand outdoor Mass held at the Mufulira Rugby Grounds. The celebration, presided over by His Grace, Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD, drew hundreds of priests from across the Archdiocese, family members, religious leaders, civic authorities, and faithful laity. Present at the joyful occasion were the Vicar General – Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, religious superiors from the OMI and SMA congregations, as well as the Mayor of Mufulira and several political leaders. The venue was packed to capacity, brought to life with vibrant singing by the choir, spirited drumming by ba Buomba, and energetic dancing and marching by the Stella and Xaferi movement. In his homily, Archbishop Phiri offered a heartfelt exhortation to the newly ordained priests. He urged them to be true pastors, men of patience, humility, respect, and self-control. He reminded them that the priesthood is not just a title, but a lifelong vocation of service rooted in prayer and faithfulness. He also challenged the faithful to support the new priests with prayer and encouragement, rather than becoming stumbling blocks that hinder their journey. The ordination marked not just a milestone for the six men, but a moment of renewal and celebration for the entire Archdiocese. Congratulations to our newly ordained Priests!!
