Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement Pilgrimage and Mass.

Today, the Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, Archbishop of the Ndola Diocese, presided over a vibrant and spirit-filled Mass with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement. The celebration, which began with a pilgrimage at Green Village and proceeded in procession to the Cathedral of Christ the King, brought together hundreds of faithful in a joyful expression of faith and spiritual unity. Present at the occasion were several clergy members including the Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila; Charismatic Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Ephraim Mulenga; Exorcist, Rev. Fr. G. Mukuka; and priests Fr. Desire Mulenga and Fr. Moses Cheleshe.
During his homily, Archbishop Phiri focused on the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of every believer. He spoke passionately about the Holy Spirit as the source of courage, power, and transformation, saying, “The Holy Spirit drives out fear and empowers us to live boldly for Christ.” He urged the faithful to seek true conversion and strive for holiness, reminding them that “holiness is wholeness”—a call to live fully for God in every area of life. He also cautioned against the dangers of pride and the misuse of spiritual gifts, emphasizing the need for humility, discernment, and service to others.
After the Mass, ten veteran members of the Charismatic Renewal were honored for their longstanding dedication and significant contributions to the movement’s growth in the diocese. Their faithfulness and service were celebrated as examples for younger members to emulate. The Mass was marked by vibrant worship, spirited singing, and a powerful atmosphere of prayer and praise, reflecting the dynamic character of the Charismatic Renewal. The celebration reaffirmed the movement’s important role in the spiritual renewal of the Church in Ndola and beyond.
