Educators Embark on Jubilee Pilgrimage of Hope.
The Jubilee Pilgrimage of Hope for Educators was held with great joy and devotion, beginning with a procession from Green Village to the Cathedral of Christ the King’s Holy Door in Ndola. The Event was organized by Rev. Fr. Bernard Kapembwa, Director of Social Projects and Programmes, who also served as the Master of Ceremonies, in collaboration with the Education Secretary, Sr. Odette Mwewa. Upon arrival from the Green village to the Cathedral, the educators walked through the Holy Doors of Hope after reciting a decade of the rosary. They then proceeded to Mass celebrated by the Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, who represented Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, who was unable to attend. In his homily, Fr. Mutachila highlighted the profound impact teachers have on their learners, urging them to uphold integrity and dignity in their vocation. He emphasized that educators must be examples of sober character and moral uprightness, avoiding vices such as alcohol abuse and examination leakages, which tarnish the noble teaching profession. He reminded them that as educators, they are role models and instruments of Christ’s presence wherever they serve. After Mass, the Vicar General joyfully interacted with teachers from across the archdiocese, including those who had traveled from as far as Chililabombwe, taking photos and sharing moments of fellowship.
