Marist Brother Henry Ngeli Profess Final Vows.

On 29th November 2025, the Marist Brothers in Zambia gathered for a joyful and sacred celebration as Brother Henry Ngeli, FMS, professed his final vows during a special Mass at St. Michael Parish in Kalulushi. The Mass was presided over by the Vicar General, Very Rev. Fr. Lewis Mutachila, who stood in for Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD due to the Archbishop’s prior commitment. The occasion drew the Marist community, family, friends, and parishioners who gathered to witness and support Brother Ngeli as he fully committed himself to the religious life. In his homily, the Vicar General commended Brother Ngeli for his courageous and faith-filled decision to commit himself fully to the Marist way of life. He reflected on the words of Jesus: “Carry your cross and follow me,” emphasizing that every meaningful decision comes with a cost. He urged Brother Ngeli to remain steadfast, reminding him that discipleship requires sacrifice and a willingness to embrace the challenges that come with religious life. Fr. Mutachila also cautioned the young brother to guard against uncontrolled appetites and distractions that could lead him away from his vocation. He encouraged the congregation to support, rather than hinder, Brother Ngeli in his ministry. He further highlighted the importance of self-awareness, knowing one’s purpose, and intentionally fulfilling the mission God has entrusted to each person. During the Mass, Brother Ngeli professed his perpetual vows before the Provincial, Brother Emmanuel Mwanalirenji, FMS, marking a profound moment of lifelong commitment. Following the ceremony, a joyful reception was held in the St. Marcellin School Hall. Family, friends, and fellow religious gathered to celebrate the newly professed brother, presenting gifts and offering heartfelt congratulations. The atmosphere was lively and colorful, filled with music, cultural dances, and various forms of entertainment, making the day both memorable and inspiring for all who attended.
