Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD today celebrated Holy Mass for consecrated men and women at Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Chingola, where he was warmly welcomed by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Mutunu, and his Assistant, Rev. Fr. Eugene. The beautiful celebration brought together consecrated sisters, priests, and members of the lay faithful. The liturgy began with prayers outside the church, followed by the blessing of candles and a solemn procession of the consecrated men and women into the church, setting a prayerful and joyful tone for the celebration. In his homily, the Archbishop encouraged those in consecrated life to remain united and faithful to their calling, reminding them that they are stronger together and that each one needs the other in the mission of the Church. He emphasized that consecrated life flourishes in communion, mutual support, and shared commitment to Christ. Archbishop Phiri also addressed those in positions of leadership, urging superiors to be fair, compassionate, and kind in their dealings with those entrusted to their care. He reminded them that leadership in religious life is a service and that all will one day give an account to God for how they cared for and guided others. The Mass was marked by reverence, unity, and renewed dedication to the consecrated life.
