Pastoral Visit at St. Francis and Claire Parish.
On,1st March 2026, the newly appointed Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Ndola, Very Rev. Fr. Ephraim Mulenga Mapulanga, celebrated Holy Mass at St. Francis and Clare Parish in Mufulira on behalf of the Archbishop of Ndola, Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD. He was warmly welcomed by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. John Bwalya, the priestly community, and the parishioners. The celebration, held during this Lenten season, was prayerful and uplifting, marked by beautiful singing that enriched the liturgy. In his homily, the Vicar General spoke about the importance of having unwavering faith in God. He reminded the faithful that prayer must be accompanied by genuine belief that God will fulfill His promises, even when storms arise and hope seems lost. He encouraged them to persevere in faith, trusting that the same God who blessed them in the past is able to bless them again in their present circumstances. Fr. Mapulanga cautioned against always preparing a “plan B” out of impatience or attempting shortcuts to obtain what one desires. He warned strongly against engaging in corrupt practices and turning to witchcraft, urging the faithful to rely solely on God. He further emphasized that God desires and is ready to bless His people, but many hinder their own blessings by holding on to vices such as gossip, unhealthy friendships and relationships, unforgiveness, hatred, and bitterness. He called on the faithful to let go of these burdens, especially during Lent, and to allow God to work freely in their lives. The pastoral visit concluded beautifully with a shared meal after mass, leaving the congregation encouraged to deepen their faith and remain steadfast in their trust in God.
