Pastoral Visit to Mary Immaculate Parish, Kalulushi.
Today, the faithful of Mary Immaculate Parish in Chibuluma, Kalulushi, came together in great numbers to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi. The Mass was presided over by His Grace, Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, who was warmly received by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Chota. The church was filled to capacity as the community marked this solemn feast with devotion and joy. In his homily, Archbishop Phiri delivered a profound reflection on the mystery of the Eucharist, emphasizing that Catholics believe the Eucharist is not a symbol, but the true Body and Blood of Christ. He urged the faithful to approach the altar with reverence and to examine their hearts before receiving Holy Communion, warning against doing so unworthily. He reminded the congregation that receiving Christ in the Eucharist means carrying His presence into the world, and thus, their lives must reflect Christ in words and actions. The Archbishop cautioned against living in pretense, stressing that God sees every hidden motive and secret. He called for genuine inner conversion so that through each believer, the world may also encounter Christ and be transformed. The celebration was further marked by the Sacrament of Confirmation, as many candidates were sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Mass concluded with a Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, a solemn act honoring the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The liturgy was rich in joyful expression, with excellent singing, dancing, and marching, and the vibrant performance by Ba Buomba, the choir, stellas and xaferi, delighted the congregation. The celebration ended on a high note, leaving hearts uplifted and faith renewed.
