Salesians of Don Bosco Celebrations.
On 24th June 2026, the Salesian Family in Chingola celebrated significant milestones: 150 years of the Salesian Cooperators, 35 years of Don Bosco Technical College, and 10 years of Don Bosco Technical Secondary School. The celebrations began with Holy Mass presided over by the Archbishop of Ndola, Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, and concelebrated by Rt. Rev. Clement Mulenga, Bishop of Kabwe Diocese and a Salesian priest. The bishops were welcomed by the Provincial Superior of the Salesians of Don Bosco for Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, Rev. Fr. Michael Kazembe Mbandama, SDB. Also present was the Director of Social Projects and Programmes for the Archdiocese of Ndola, Rev. Fr. James Dokowe. In his homily, Archbishop Phiri praised the Salesians for their dedication to educating and forming young people, noting how their mission has grown from humble beginnings into thriving institutions. He encouraged learners to take advantage of the holistic education offered and cautioned them against substance abuse and other harmful vices. Following Mass, awards were presented to individuals who contributed to the growth of the institutions and to long-serving members of staff. The two bishops were also presented with a unique chair that converts into a ladder, designed and produced by the school and technical college. The celebrations continued with lunch and entertainment, bringing together students, staff, alumni, and friends of the Salesian Family in a joyful spirit of thanksgiving.Â
