St. Peter the Apostle Parish’s 40th Anniversary.
St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Mushili, Ndola, was filled with joy and thanksgiving as it celebrated its 40th anniversary with a beautiful and spirit-filled Mass presided over by His Grace, Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri. The Archbishop was warmly welcomed by Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Christopher Mwansa, and Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ackim Musenge, along with a large gathering of parishioners. The celebration was lively and colorful, marked by vibrant singing, traditional dancing, and a powerful performance by the Ba Buomba dancers. The liturgy was a true expression of faith, culture, and unity. In his homily, Archbishop Phiri invited the faithful to use the anniversary as a moment of deep reflection, not only to celebrate how far the parish has come, but also to humbly recognize areas that need improvement. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging both successes and shortcomings in the journey of faith and encouraged the community to seek God’s mercy for the times they may have fallen short. He further urged all parishioners to embrace the Sacrament of Reconciliation, calling it a powerful opportunity to renew one’s relationship with God. True celebration, he said, must be accompanied by repentance, conversion, and a renewed commitment to live according to the Gospel. As part of the occasion, certificates of appreciation were awarded to long-serving and well-deserving parishioners who have significantly contributed to the life of the parish over the past four decades. The celebration marked a milestone of growth, faith, and unity, reminding all that the journey of the Church is one of constant renewal in Christ.
