Ibenga Girls Secondary school celebrates 60 years Jubilee

Today, 9th September 2023, Ibenga Girls secondary school celebrated 60 years of existence. The festivities began with mass celebrated by the Bishop of Ndola Diocese- Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri JCD.

In his Homily, His Lordship Bishop Dr. Phiri defined true education as first and foremost being able to know God, before acquiring academic excellence. He spoke about being educated to educate the world about God in the way the world would understand.

It was succeeded with a beautiful display of the history, accomplishments and accolades of Ibenga Girls Secondary School.
Guest were entertained with cultural dances by students and speeches were made by representatives of the Chief, District commissioner and Provincial Education Officer. The keynote speech was given by Bishop Dr . Phiri.

An Award ceremony later followed, during which different individuals and congregations were honored for their contribution to the school including the Late Bishop Francis Mazzieri.

The Ibenga girls Alumni presented a cheque of K260, 000 to help with the Kitchen renovations at the school. The oldest Head Girl from the Alumni and the youngest Head Girl gave the Vote of thanks as the festivities came to an end. Below are few highlight
