St. Mary’s Mission Hospital Celebrates Diamond Jubilee.

On 12th November 2020, the Vicar General- Very Rev. Fr. Christopher Chowa represented His lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri at St. Mary’s Mission Hospital as they not only celebrated 60 years under the theme: ‘’Narrating the faithful love of God in the 60 years of quality health care’’ but also officially opened 4 staff flats. The hospital is the property of the Catholic Diocese of Ndola and is run by the Franciscan Missionary Sister of Assisi. It is a grant- aided institution and is affiliated to the Church Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ). It Started as a small dispensary but has now grown to a 1st Level hospital. It has been serving the community with compassionate love and care; through provision of preventive and curative services such as maternal and child health (MCH) services, static and Outreach activities, HIV treatment and preventative services, Tuberculosis Clinic, Environmental Health services, School health services and Health Promotion Activities. Despite all these services the hospital is currently offering they have set their sights on expanding into radiology, dental, Ophthalmic and operating theatre services with the help of cooperating Partners.

The Jubilee celebration Began with Mass Celebrated by Vicar General- Very Rev. Fr. Chowa. Then a tour of the health facility was done and finally the official opening and blessing of the new staff flats that were built through a grant from Beit Trust. In attendance was Rev. Sr. Nelly Chisense-Hospital Administrator , St. Mary’s Mission Parish Priest -Rev. Fr. Rafiki Epimaque, the local Hospital Chaplain- Rev. Fr. Pius Kampamba, District Health Director – Mr Pius Mulenga, Rev. Fr. John Lukunka and Rev. Fr. Crispin Mukonda. Below are a few Highlights.
