Commissioning of New Hospital Wing.

Commissioning of New Hospital Wing.

A significant milestone was reached today at St. Dominic’s Mission Hospital in Kavu, Ndola, with the official commissioning of the newly constructed High-Cost Extension Wing by Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD. The commissioning followed a special Eucharistic celebration attended by clergy, religious, hospital staff, and members of the community.
The new wing, though initially intended to serve priests and religious men and women, will also be open to individuals who wish to be accommodated there, as a strategic way to raise funds for the hospital’s running costs.
After the Mass, the Archbishop, accompanied by his entourage, proceeded to bless and officially open the new facility, which includes a chapel, reception area, waiting room, kitchen, an executive room, VIP rooms, and consultation rooms. The atmosphere was one of joy and thanksgiving as the hospital marked another step forward in its mission of holistic and dignified healthcare.
During his remarks, Archbishop Phiri expressed gratitude to the Bishop of Suwon in Korea and Kasaria Eco Village, whose generous support made the project possible. He also thanked all individuals and organizations that contributed to its success.
In closing, the Archbishop made a passionate appeal to the public to support the wing by donating materials, finances, or offering services to help sustain the hospital’s essential work. The event concluded with a strong sense of unity, hope, and renewed commitment to compassionate care for all.
