The Archdiocese of Ndola today held a vibrant celebration of Holy Childhood Day at Nkana Stadium, drawing an impressive 6,821 registered children from all 10 deaneries. The event was held under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” reminding children of their role as young missionaries who bring the light of Christ to others. The day began with Holy Mass celebrated by the Archbishop of Ndola, Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, who was warmly received by PMS Director, Rev. Fr. Kelvin Bwalya, Pastoral Director, Rev. Fr. Ephraim Mulenga, and Kamfinsa Dean, Rev. Fr. Donald Mulenga. The celebration was also attended by Holy Childhood chaplains and animators. In his homily, the Archbishop encouraged the children to be obedient and truthful, to live in purity of spirit, and avoid falling into the various vices that threaten their faith. He addressed parents and guardians, urging them to care for the children entrusted to them, recognizing their great value in the eyes of God. The Mass featured vibrant singing by the Holy Childhood Choir, energetic dances by the Stellas and Junior Buomba, and well-coordinated marching by the Xaferi group. After Mass, each deanery presented performances such as dances, poems, and songs, showcasing the talent and missionary spirit of the children. The celebration was filled with joy hope and faith of young pilgrims journeying with Christ.
