Mass at St. Dominic’s Mission Hospital

Mass at St. Dominic’s Mission Hospital

Today, St. Dominic’s Mission Hospital in Kavu, Ndola, held a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, to officially commission the newly constructed High-Cost Extension Wing. This new facility is primarily designed to provide quality medical care for priests and religious men and women, but it will also be open to individuals who wish to be accommodated there, as a means of raising funds to support the hospital’s ongoing operational costs.
The Archbishop was warmly welcomed by Rev. Fr. Bernd Kapembwa, Director of Social Programmes, and Sr. Angela Mwaba, Hospital Proprietor. Also in attendance were clergy, religious, healthcare staff, and the faithful from the surrounding community.
All offerings made during the Mass were donated to the hospital, specifically towards the feeding of patients, reflecting the Church’s deep commitment to the care of the sick and vulnerable. Additionally, various individuals and organizations made pledges to further support the hospital’s work and development.
In his speech after Mass, Archbishop Phiri expressed gratitude to the Bishop of Suwon in Korea, whose support through Kasaria Eco Village made the construction of the new wing possible. He also extended thanks to all collaborators and donors who played a role in the realization of this project.
The Archbishop and his entourage then proceeded to bless and commission the new wing, marking a significant milestone for the hospital. The day ended in joy and thanksgiving for this impactful development.
