St. Stephen Parish marks Golden Jubilee.

On December 2, 2023, a jubilant atmosphere filled St. Stephen Parish in Kabundi, Chingola, as the community came together to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The festivities kicked off with a solemn Mass presided over by the esteemed Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, Bishop of the Ndola Diocese. The clergy, including priests who had dedicated their service to the parish over the past five decades, travelled from far and wide, with representatives journeying from as far as Livingstone.

The Mass was a poignant reflection on the parish’s rich history, with prayers of gratitude for the community’s steadfast faith and commitment. Certificates were awarded to parishioners who had shown exceptional dedication to the growth and well-being of St. Stephen Parish throughout its 50 years of existence.
A momentous highlight of the celebration was the blessing and commissioning of the newly built grotto on the parish grounds by Bishop Dr. Phiri. The grotto stands as a symbol of devotion and a testament to the enduring spirit of the community.

The joyous occasion continued with a special luncheon where parishioners, clergy, and guests indulged in camaraderie and shared stories. Various entertainments added an extra layer of festivity, creating an unforgettable day of reflection, celebration, and unity.
