FUNERAL MASS OF LATE ARCHBISHOP MPUNDU.
On, 21st May 2026, the Archdiocese of Ndola joined the entire Catholic community of Zambia in mourning the passing of the late Archbishop Emeritus of Lusaka, Telesphore George Mpundu, a shepherd whose voice, courage, and faith shaped generations. In a profound gesture of unity and brotherly love, the Archdiocese of Ndola travelled to Lusaka to accompany its shepherd, Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, together with members of senior management, the Archdiocesan curia, and representatives of various lay apostolic groups. Their presence at requiem mass was a testament to the deep respect and gratitude held for a man who dedicated his life to the service of God, the Church, and the nation. As the Church in Zambia bade farewell to one of her devoted shepherds, the Archdiocese of Ndola continues to stand in prayer and solidarity with the Archdiocese of Lusaka, trusting that the Lord whom he served faithfully will grant him eternal rest.
