Thanksgiving Mass 2025.

Thanksgiving Mass 2025.

Yesterday, 31st December 2025, His Grace Archbishop Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, celebrated a Thanksgiving Mass at the Cathedral of Christ the King, marking the close of the year. In his homily, the Archbishop called on the faithful to give heartfelt thanks to God for the many blessings received throughout the year 2025. He encouraged everyone to take time to reflect honestly on their lives, identifying areas where they may have fallen short, and to seek God’s forgiveness, especially for failing to use their gifts and talents for the purpose for which God intended them. Archbishop Phiri emphasized the importance of reconciliation as the year comes to an end. He urged the congregation to let go of grudges, forgive all those who may have hurt them, and embrace healing and peace of heart. He reminded the faithful that forgiveness is essential for spiritual growth and is a necessary step toward beginning the New Year with renewed hope. Looking ahead to 2026, the Archbishop encouraged the faithful to make a fresh start, grounded in love and unity. He called on all to love one another sincerely and to treat each other with dignity and respect, noting that authentic Christian living is best witnessed through daily acts of kindness, compassion, and understanding. The Thanksgiving Mass concluded in an atmosphere of gratitude and reflection, as the faithful entrusted the coming year to God, praying for renewed strength, deeper faith, and a spirit of love as they step into the New Year.
